Cats and Dogs? Elephants maybe

Seriously, what is the problem with the weather here in Subang Jaya? It's been raining EVERY single day since Monday, incidentally the day i did my laundry (i know i know, housewife training). And by rain i mean a freaking storm fully equipped with lightning, thunder, strong wind and the ability to wet every single thing, whether sheltered or not (eg ME)

It amazes me how quickly the weather can change... When i ended classes at 3 on Thursday, it was so hot you would think the college was in a desert... Attended a Pharmacy talk given by the Student Placement Center of Taylor's College till around 3.30 pm and the sky was getting a teeny bit dark, but still alright... Went to the library to look for my classmate Ameen to get back my pendrive which he was taking a picture from, only to find out he has gone back, toatlly forgetting about me... When i got out of the very very packed library it had begun raining, unfortunately... the wind was so strong i actually got pushed to the wall... After years of teasing, it has finally happened, i will never ever laugh at the thought anymore... Was stuck at the cafeteria (which was pitch black) for a good 30 minutes, thanks to the rain... Luckily i met my housemate there, who was very calmly having a snack while waiting for someone to return her umbrella, so i walked back (ran actually) the minute the rain got lighter. Which wasn't very light still... Went back to the My Place Apartments to find the branches of the trees in the apartment grounds got blown off and was obstructing our path.... Me being an avid photographer whipped out my IXUS 400 and quickly snapped a photo, when i was sheltered obviously... The clothes i hung out on Monday got another washing that day, since the wind blew all the rain inside the balcony of my apartment... Luckily i managed to bring in my newly washed clohtes in today before it begun raining, since i was home since 1 doing laundry and my every piling homework... Thanks to the rain i've a sore throat now, but it's better now coz Tasha, being mummy-like made me crysanthenum tea....

Classes are getting more and more annoying challenging, homework for all subjects are given out every day, not to mention all the projects we have to complete. Then there's the charity drive thing, although i shouldn't be complaining about that since i'm not doing much... Our class is having a 3 on 3 basketball tournament, so Taylor's people come support us alright? Regristration is open at the cafeteria, i'm in charge of it on Tuesday... Can contact my classmates too, the numbers are on the posters posted on all notice boards in Taylors... Also selling drinks like cordials and floats (flurts according to Desmond, my class rep who can't pronounce it) and having hair spraying, nail art and tattoo services on the day itself, the 31st of March...

though the classes are getting tougher, i have to say i'm still having fun in college... most of the time i hang out with the poor unfortunate people in my classs which has to attend LAN classes, where the teacher's monotonous voice is capable of putting everyone to sleep. Like Pn. Tumiru, anyone remember her? Have to rely on doodling in my book to not fall asleep in class, will post pictures of my "work" if possible... So it's me, Dee, Andrew, Ren Ee, Chin Ying, Adeline, Wei Yang, Yueen Mun, Esther (Tan, not Chan or Lee) and Zhi Ven... Last one doesn't really count since he hangs out with some other people during LAN but i'll still add him coz we LAN-going people have to stick together no? Tried to matchmake Melissa and Zhi Ven, but poth parties are not interested (sad, i always fail my match making tests) since the guy wants a Selangor gal and Mel has someone in mind (ask her for more details, i'm not allowed to say anything!)

I think i'll stop here, it's a really long post this time, so it should last for a while...

Long long week

Sorry i haven't been able to blog these few days (okay, maybe a bit more than few days), it;s really hard trying to do so when
(a) I don't have internet in the apartment
(b) I don't enjoy being in the library or college computer room so long, sonce it's so freaking cold
(c) I have tons of things to do
(d) I don't have anything interesting to write about

The week in college after CNY is not something i wish to go through again... Had a Biology quiz, then a Chemistry one, which was so so so hard even AFTER i got tips from Nick... Every subject teacher gave homework, even our English teacher... Didn't get to sleep till midnight every single night that week, and having to wake up at 7 the next day is seriously annoying, and a feat almost impossible to achieve if not for Lyn and Dee... Looks like this week isn't going to be much better... Tomorrow i have a Maths quiz, which will contribute 5% to my internal assessment, and also pass up my Englsih Investigative Study preliminary outline... Not to mention the only dates i have for Valentine's Day is a communnity service meeting (at the Taylor's American Degree programme theater called The Purple Box) and dinner with my friends (all girls, Andrew doesn't really count as a guy anymore since he's always with us)

So much for "It'll be very different when you enter college"... I'm basically doing the same thing i did in school: I study, take tests, get stressed, gossip, hang out with my friends, have no life other than that, feel like curling up and sleeping for the rest of the year... Not much difference, except for the not-staying-with-family thing and the my-class-has-guys thing... the thing about being in convent so long is that i'm not very used to having guys around college... and how open-minded and bold we are, since we didn't have to be afraid of embarrassing ourselves in front of guys last time, which is why i got a funny looks from my classmates when i introduced Dee as my Mummy, since they probably don't do that at whatever school they came from...

That's about it people, have to use the remainder of my brain for my Maths quiz tomorrow... Wish me luck!

Blogthings

Discovered this when visiting Christine's blog...

The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to those who have a split personality - cold as ice on the outside but hot as fire in the heart.

In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored.

You'd like to your lover to think you are loyal and faithful... that you'll never change.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was insecure and in constant need of reassurance.

Your ideal relationship is open. Both of you can talk about everything... no secrets.

Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.

You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred.

In this moment, you think of love as commitment. Love only works when both people are totally devoted.

True? I think so...

The many days of CNY

It's the God knows what day of Chinese new Year, and life seems to be back to normal, if you ignore the very very very cheena decorations, the irritating cheena new year songs and tons of new year goodies stacked up on a table in my aunt's place. don't get me wrong, the new year goodies taste just fine, very nice actually, but i just can't help thinking about the enormous amount of work awaiting me... I don't think we college people are SUPPOSED to be relaxing during the holidays, judging by the amount of things we have to do, but what the hell, i'm totally relaxing myself. for now at least.

the holidays have been good so far, lots of angpows collected, lots of people met, lots of 'yee sang' eaten and lots of blackjack everyday... of the things done, OBVIOUSLY the angpow collecting is the best activity yet... blackjack depepnds on whether you are losing (like my uncle who lost RM 200+ being banker) or winning... I've only won less than 10 bucks, which is actually pretty good since i'm losing money EVERY single year i've been playing, which is since i was 11... My cousin Jay (his surname's Chow too, like one famous Taiwanese singer whom Lyn fell for after watching Initial D) on the other hand has been playing since he was 9 (he's only 12) and has managed to win at least RM 100++ every year. Like seriously. The only reason i'm winning money this year is because i was betting under him, coz his luck is very very very good. not to mention he has skills and is able to calculate very quickly unlike someone i know who wanted to take a card even after he got 21 points! (seriously, it's happened twice)

Apart from that, it's nice having my family around, with the execption of Kit, who is still as irritating and small-sized even though he's already in Form 1... but other than Kit, it's been nice having my family here, especially since my dad bought me the Fossil watch i want!!! heehee... it's still sitting in it's nice little box on the table, haven't worn it yet... mom bought me lots of clothes too, so life is good...
