exam countdown

MySpace Countdowns

so unfair

so many activities are going on now when I'm having my exams! geram. Missed the whole College Day thanks to Pharmaceutics test, didn't even manage to have a go at the jumping castle once! At least the ex-Student club dinner made up for it, with the bangle and awesome earrings I got from the new Secretary Naomi. Hope she doesn't decide to quit, or else Aaron would definitely find some way to make me take over *shivers in fear*

Liwen's birthday celebration today, guy brought us to some random Japanese restaurant along Flinder's Lane for dinner. Shabu-shabu! Didnt have it but had fun cooking the meat for the guys when I was done with my unagi (!!) and had nothing to do... Went bowling after that, but ended up watching while reading Cardiovascular notes coz it was too expensive. Oh, and a short trip to Max Brenner and a fleeting thought of dying my hair red or purple to scare mum when I get home when we were at Safeway.

Came back and scavenged food from a function in IH that ended late, got trays full of snacks to fuel our party just 1 floor up, where we played Pictionary for 2 and a half hours! Girls COMPLETELY owned the first game, reaching the finish point while the guys hadn't even moved! Pretty funny games we had, especially when trying to convey a message to your team, and the interesting ways we came up with to make our team guess. Pictures of the games and the memorable guesses will be up soon once I get the pictures from Krista.

3.05 am and I'm blogging. Oh my. At least all self help is done so no waking up at 7 am for me! Gotta study the whole day tomorrow for my Pharmacology paper on Monday, grrr...

Did I mention the Melbourne Uni students haven't even FINISHED their classes for the semester?

And how we're being overcharged for staying in IH being MONASH students? I'll kill that Will one day I swear.

Halloween party next Friday, by which I would be 3 papers down! Gotten my outfit, so it just remains to see whether I'll dare to wear it. Or if I have the energy to...

edits

Have updated my list of links on the right ---->

Was amazed at just how many ex-classmates of mine have blogs now! When I saw the links I was like "Hey, I know that name, why is it so familiar?" followed by a click, a quick scroll and then "OMG, if this is who I think it is, she's changed sooo much!" then a 5-second pause followed by "Hey, I've changed a lot too!"

Ithink the inner workings of my mind is wayyyy too weird.

Added communitychannel to my favourite links, because I check her youtube page probably once a day to see whether she has any new videos. Just too awesome. Made me comtemplate vlogging, but nahhhh. No videocam, no idea how to edit videos and I hate the sound of my voice. (KK has his ringtone set to a voice clip of me on helium. Meh.)

Has anyone noticed the awesome tag cloud thingy on the right? So cool! Took me a while to set it though.

Still looking for an apartment for next year to stay in, Celine and I decided NOT to go for her cousin's apartment since it was too small for the two of us. :(
Been shopping on IKEA website for the past 2 days and ordered the 2009 catalouge! Truly, Heaven must decorate with IKEA. God bless the founders of IKEA.

Got my sitemeter report today. Have just realised that I can "stalk" the readers of my blog, just as they stalk me! According to the report, most of my readers are from Australia, the next biggest proportion being from New Zealand (19%) and including a few weird ones like 2% from China and 1% from India. Hmmmmm. Plus one visit from Doncaster, which means my aunt has checked my blog! Oh dear.

That's enough randomness for today.

P.S. Watch Gossip Girl ep 7 of Season 2! It's a must-watch!

Adam Talks All About Eve

After spending time with Eve, Adam was walking in the Garden with God. Adam told God how much the woman means to him and how blessed he feels to have her. Adam began to ask questions about her.

Adam: Lord, Eve is beautiful. Why did you make her so beautiful?

God: So you will always want to look at her.

Adam: Lord, her skin is so soft. Why did you make her skin so soft?

God: So you will always want to touch her.

Adam: She always smells so good. Lord, why did you make her smell so good?

God: So you will always want to be near her.

Adam: That's wonderful Lord, and I don't want to seem ungrateful, but why did you make her so stupid?

God: So she would love you.

MoveOn.org video

Go to http://www.mccainfreewhitehouse.org/ and check out this video featuring Penn Badgley and Blake Lively about talking to your parents about the risks of voting for McCain.

I'm not posting this to make people stand on Obama's side or to oppose McCain, I just think this video is interesting, especially how the way they play it out like how parents talk to their kids about drugs. I think. I wouldn't know, seeing as my parents never gave me the "don't do drugs" talk. Or the "birds and the bees" talk. Even the "when you hit puberty, your body changes" talk.

Hm.

If what I've said STILL hasn't gotten you interested, just watch it for the sake of seeing more of "Dan" and "Serena".

For the lazy bums, I'll post the video here. All you have to do is click "PLAY".

And turn the volume up.

Search "MoveOn.org" on youtube.com for more videos. There's one with John Cusack speaking 150 words a second as usual.

more about my brother

A big THANK YOU!!! to all my brother's friends who forced him to go for a haircut, doesn't he look so much better than the other picture?

Now we have to correct his posture and his taste in clothing and he's all set to charm the girls! Takers anyone?

Spent the whole day yesterday bumming around instead of studying, and this morning I conked out after my self help and only woke up past 2, so guilty for not studying...

Watching yet ANOTHER drama now! Basketball drama starring Jerry Yan, Wu Chun and Alan Luo. Show's called Hot Shot - basketball on fire. Though I think the title refers more to the actors in the show... Only 6 episodes up so far, so it shouldnt disrupt my studies much... Been spending the last couple of days discussing dramas with anyone who would listen, eg. CJ in the library, Fangi on MSN and Chia Huan during self help!

Still waiting for James to pass me the Cantonese drama I'm dying to watch.......

Movies To Watch In Summer :)

James Bond: Quantum of Solace
Seeking revenge for the death of his love, secret agent James Bond sets out to stop an environmentalist from taking control of a country's water supply.

Twilight
Bella Swan is a clumsy, kind hearted teenager with a knack for getting into trouble. Edward Cullen is an intelligent, good looking vampire who is trying to hide his secret. Against all odds, the two fall in love but will a pack of blood thirsty trackers, an old pact between a certain pack of werewolves and the disapproval of their family and friends separate them?

The Pursuit of Happyness
A struggling salesman takes custody of his son as he's poised to begin a life-changing professional endeavor.

Donnie Darko (if I have enough courage to watch it, seems pretty dark. Jake Gyllenhall!)
A troubled teenager is plagued by visions of a large bunny rabbit that manipulates him to commit a series of crimes, after narrowly escaping a bizarre accident.

P.S. I Love You
Holly Kennedy is beautiful, smart and married to the love of her life - a passionate, funny, and impetuous Irishman named Gerry. So when Gerry's life is taken by an illness, it takes the life out of Holly. The only one who can help her is the person who is no longer there. Nobody knows Holly better than Gerry. So it's a good thing he planned ahead. Before he died, Gerry wrote Holly a series of letters that will guide her, not only through her grief, but in rediscovering herself.

Untraceable
FBI agent Jennifer Marsh is tasked with hunting down a seemingly untraceable serial killer who posts live videos of his victims on the Internet. As time runs out, the cat and mouse chase becomes more personal.

Watch the trailer!!

Definitely, Maybe (still can't believe Isla Fisher is with Ali G)
On the day she has her first sex ed class, 10-year-old Maya grills her divorcing dad Will Hayes about her conception. That night, he fills her in, changing the names of the women who were in his life then to keep her guessing which is her mom: Emily, his college girlfriend when he came to New York from Wisconsin for Clinton's '92 campaign; April, edgy, a little cynical, who misses her father; and, Summer, a writer attracted to older, established men. In demanding the story, Maya's motivation is clear: to get her dad to fall in love again with her mom. Will this parent trap work? In the telling, might Will discover his true Penelope? Definitely. Maybe.

Atonement
Fledgling writer Briony Tallis, as a 13-year-old, irrevocably changes the course of several lives when she accuses her older sister's lover of a crime he did not commit. Based on the British romance novel by Ian McEwan.

August Rush
The story of a charismatic young Irish guitarist and a sheltered young cellist who have a chance encounter one magical night above New York's Washington Square, but are soon torn apart, leaving in their wake an infant, August Rush, orphaned by circumstance. Now performing on the streets of New York and cared for by a mysterious stranger, August uses his remarkable musical talent to seek the parents from whom he was separated at birth.

Made of Honour (Patrick Dempsey!!)
Made of Honor revolves around Tom and Hannah, who have been platonic friends for 10 years. He's a serial dater, while she wants marriage but hasn't found Mr. Right. Just as Tom is starting to think that he is relationship material after all, Hannah gets engaged. When she asks Tom to be her "maid" of honor, he reluctantly agrees just so he can attempt to stop the wedding and woo her.

Becoming Jane
The year is 1795 and young Jane Austen is a feisty 20-year-old and emerging writer who already sees a world beyond class and commerce, beyond pride and prejudice, and dreams of doing what was then nearly unthinkable - marrying for love. Naturally, her parents are searching for a wealthy, well-appointed husband to assure their daughter's future social standing. They are eyeing Mr. Wisley, nephew to the very formidable, not to mention very rich, local aristocrat Lady Gresham, as a prospective match. But when Jane meets the roguish and decidedly non-aristocratic Tom Lefroy, sparks soon fly along with the sharp repartee. His intellect and arrogance raise her ire - then knock her head over heels. Now, the couple, whose flirtation flies in the face of the sense and sensibility of the age, is faced with a terrible dilemma. If they attempt to marry, they will risk everything that matters - family, friends and fortune.

Across The Universe
A dock worker Jude travels to America in the 1960s to find his estranged father. There he falls in love with sheltered American teenager Lucy. When her brother Max is drafted to fight in the Vietnam War, they become involved in peace activism. The film title and main characters are named after various songs by The Beatles.

Notes On A Scandal
A veteran high school teacher befriends a younger art teacher, who is having an affair with one of her 15-year-old students. However, her intentions with this new "friend" also go well beyond platonic friendship.

mission of the day...

...to stalk my brothers on Facebook. Wei doesn't have an account, which means I stalk him by looking for pictures of him in albums of his friends which he is most likely to appear in. Which means Yue Jing's Scrabble or JB pictures. Nigel too, though less now that he's in Sunway JB.

Came across this awesome one and the comments are hilarious too! Especially this comment by Nigel:

Nigel: i think xw's eyes will only become big when he playing dota.
(this is probably true as my brother's eyes are closed most of the time. or almost closed)

my wishlist

My wishlist

3 posts to go!

blogging so much thanks to chu jie

Been checking CJ's blog almost daily to see when her 1000th post will turn up (sister's birthday's the special occasion) and hence have been blogging a lot too! 496th post for me so far, wonder what post will make the big 500!

On a completely different note, I always forget to check my eBay bids before they end! Hence I end up with emails notifying me that I have lost my bid by oh, 50 cents. Damn. That's 4 pairs of shoes I've been beated to by half a dollar. Ergh.

That said, did manage to win the auction for a pair of champagne heels. Champagne sounds so awesome as a colour!

Ta-da! To be mine once my PayPal transfers my money over from my bank account and I can send the payment to the owner!

Seller must be aspiring to be Imelda Marcos, so many pairs of shoes for sale!!

Missed one on this pair by... you guessed it!... 50 cents.

prevent Alzheimer'houts......

......study Pharmacology! If you can remember all the drugs you'll definitely have worked your brain enough to keep the disease at bay!

Prostaglandins, prostacyclins, leukotrienes, cytokines, lymphocytes, leukocytes, thromboxanes.... Hate autacoids!!

Went over to James's apartment to surprise him this evening... so many people!!! Monash friends and his JPA friends were all there...the ones at the back of the group barely made it into the apartment, much less see out birthday boy (in PJs) being surprised by us all. Had to run back to IH with Xin Nee for dinner which we were 15 minutes late for...

Trying to get back into the habit of blogging, it'll be my 500th post soon! CJ's already past 1000, OMG.

Song time! Listening to my iTunes when studying can be pretty distracting, either I sing along or keep skipping songs because I don't like it... Yet, without music I wouldn't be able to study either... Hmmm.

Oh yes, need to remember to label my posts too!

Take Me As I Am - Ingrid Michaelson

If you were falling
Then I would catch you
You need a light
I'd find a match

Cause I love the way you say good morning
And you take me the way I am

If you are chilly
Here, take my sweater
Your head is aching
I'll make it better

Cause I love the way you call me baby
And you take me the way I am

I'd buy you Rogaine
When you start losing your hair
Sew on patches
To all you tear

Cause I love you more than I could ever promise
And you take me the way I am

Song's simplistically romantic. Can see a couple slow dancing to this at their wedding. Heh. Might try and convince mum to have a 25th year anniversary and put this song in the playlist.
